Hết Rồi

The painting Hết Rồi draws inspiration from anti-drinking propaganda posters of the Soviet Union, which were prevalent through the 1940s-60s. Using negative space creatively to define the scene, the work features bold colors set against a textured background, lending it a sense of both depth and nostalgia. The title Hết Rồi, meaning "it's over" in Vietnamese, underscores the work’s theme of finality and transformation. The faint, barely visible outline of the man's figure symbolizes the gradual dissolution of self that accompanies intoxication, reflecting the loss of control and identity associated with excess. This piece also marks a shift in the artist’s style, exploring a more experimental approach. While the New Wave Pointillism technique subtly permeates the work, it appears less pronounced, offering a fresh take on the artist’s evolving visual language.
